Welcome to MaralFarsi.com Maral Farsi is proud to serve as an appointed official for the great state of California. In April of 2018, Maral Farsi was appointed as the Deputy Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at the California’s Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) by Governor Jerry Brown.  Her appointment came as a result of her track record of success in the private sector.

Farsi, who is a Democrat, was honored to accept this opportunity to serve on behalf of the people of California. Maral is an experienced public policy and government affairs professional having worked on behalf of nonprofits, trade associations, and Fortune 10 corporations. Prior to being appointed to her current role, Maral worked for one of the country’s largest health care companies, CVS Health, as the Director of Government Affairs, managing the business’s interests in ten states in the western United States, including California. In this capacity, Maral testified before state legislatures and worked closely with members of those states’ executive branches. Prior to that, she held policy and government affairs roles of varying capacities primarily in the healthcare sector.

Throughout Maral’s years of experience, she has successfully worked to assist consumers and businesses in finding mutually beneficial solutions to public policy challenges. She understands the importance of balancing of business interests and consumer protections to find solutions that make sense for all Californians. She recognizes the diversity of those interests based on demographics, geography, and economics. Her own background as a first-generation immigrant from Southern California, now living in Northern California, has allowed her to connect with individuals, organizations, and businesses with diverse interests. She is especially proficient in healthcare, economic development, managed care, business/corporate matters, and workforce issues.

Maral earned a Master of Science degree in law from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She earned another Master’s degree from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health in Health Policy. She also received her Bachelor of Science from California State University, Northridge and proudly attended LAUSD schools when growing up all over Los Angeles County. Maral moved to Sacramento over a decade ago to pursue her passion for public policy. She is a member of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health’s Alumni Board of Directors and volunteers at high schools around the greater Sacramento region.
